Viewing and Saving the Source of a Webpage


Viewing Source

As you will learn later, Webpages are created with a language called HTML. This is a scripting language. When you are visiting a webpage on the Internet and would like to try to view this HTML source you can by doing the following steps:
  1. Go to webpage you wish
  2. Select "View->Document Source" or "View->Source" or some other variation of this theme (see your Browser's help for more details)

Saving Source

You may also save the source to your computer by following these steps:
  1. Go to webpage you wish
  2. Select "File->SaveAs" (see your Browser for more details if is different)
  3. Set type = HTML

Saving as Text

Rather than saving the HTML you may also save the webpage's text by:
  1. Go to webpage you wish
  2. Select "File->SaveAs" (see your Borwser for more details if is different)
  3. Set type = Plain text
