Evaluation Guidelines

 

Score = Ave_Student_Survey + Instructor_Survey + Functional_Score

 

Functional_Score has maximum of 100 points

    The idea here is the assigned work is to be evaluated coarsely to one of the levels of achievment listed below. In the case of designing a SW system, the goal of the assigned work is for the student to go through the design and development process and it is less important how well the system functions, but, rather that it does function in some sense. This is meant to encourage creativity and exploration of new ideas without punishment if they do not succeed.

     

     

    Grading Scheme:
    100-80% =
    • all portions of project designed and implemented, and run
    • Uncertainty displayed appropriately
    • Can select what kinds/levels of uncertainty to display
    • Can modify how uncertainty displayed
    • Easy to use
    • attended all work sessions
    • turned in all deliverables
    80-70% =
    • all portions of project designed and implemented,
    • Ease of use and clarity of how to modify uncertainty display not good.
    • Uncertainty displayed appropriately
    • Can select what kinds/levels of uncertainty to display
    • Can modify how uncertainty displayed
    • attended all work sessions but one
    • turned in all deliverables

    70-50% =
    • all portions of project designed,
    • Uncertainty displayed appropriately
    • attended all work sessions but one
    • turned in deliverables
    0-49% =
    • anything less than 50% requirements
