Q? Can you develop stand alone Facebook apps?

=================================================== Q? 2) On widgets - I am trying to see how with the new feature you can tie it to your own say video ,etc....Content->Playlist feature. Can you point me to the documentation on this... RIght now I did an action off the video player when you click on it it goes to a youtube url but, it always pops it up in a new window and I don't want this...I want the content (even if I have to upload it to kickapp) inside the video paper in the widget.. I am creating widget from scratch and not using video template as I want to learn event handling. I associated the "scrubber" and "volume" control GUI elements in the widget I put there with the video player but, that is not enough for them to work and to actually play the video. Any tips....
I confess I am just trying to do and read documentation as I go......if you think there is a sequence I should follow instead to learn event handling please suggest it. 3) Is it possible to have a widget's play video that is hosted elsewhere (on my server)? AO: yes, as long as she uses an MRSS feed that has an url with the actual video files added to it (not a url that has a redirect to the video file) then it should be fine. 4) I take it all other resources have to be RSS feeds? What about YQL - anyone use this effectively? Do you have any examples that people can edit showing different resource useage (that may be REST based) like Google Map API,etc. AO: I think this question is asking if she can use 3rd party APIs in the App Studio. If so, then the answer is yes! AO: Yes- all the time to measure the success of campaigns, contests, site traffic and a whole lot more.
