Yahoo is an Internet Directory/Index maintained by David Filo and Jerry Yang at Stanford. It
currently features over 32,000 entries. In addition to browsing, the Yahoo catalog allows you to
search its collection, add new resources, and has its own "What's New" and "Random Link"
features.

WWW Virtual Library is a list of WWW documents compiled from requests sent to
www-request@info.cern.ch and other sites. Exploring the catalog of resources by Library of
Congress subject headings (experimental) and geographic area are also options.

- The Lycos Home Page is a search engine
that allows you to
search on document titles and content.
The index searches document title, headings, links, and keywords it locates in these
WWW documents. I find it has more scientific and technical information
than other engines

Alta Vista searches the full text of Web documents. Can do simple or complex searches. Very
comprehensive.
